Alison Kershaw
celebrate!
Thanks to everyone who took part and came along to our celebration event at Elizabeth Gaskell's House on Plymouth Grove on Tuesday. Over 60 people attended the event and saw the film and presentations. With poetry readings, research observations report, a wonderful film and sounds from the activities that have taken place all year, made by Rae Story - all in the beautiful servants hall and accompanied by tea and sumptuous cakes served by their amazingly friendly volunteers crew. It was a wonderful day for all involved.
Special mention to Dominique Tessier and James Isherwood whose books "Rent Book" and 'Creatures and Garbage were launched at the event also, and to Adele Fowles, Roz, Carl Peploe and Bernadette
O Hanrahan for reading their poems to the captivated audience.
Introducing St Luke's Art Project, I reminded everyone that it is now 25 years since we started creating our unique artists space at the heart of the St Luke's Neighbourhood. Projects have included experimental sound scapes, giant puppets, published books and public art installation. And all these years later, the project continues to involve, engage, explore and innovate.
