Whitworth Art Trip
A group of people interested in Mapping Manchester's Quiet Spaces gathered today in Whitworth Park to explore the Cozens and Cozens landscape exhibition and spending the afternoon listening and drawing amongst the trees...
We are very grateful to the Whitworth Art Gallery for providing us with a warm and dry base for us to run this workshop. It was a lovely way to spend a quiet afternoon which gave us time and space to explore the themes of the day and the numerous quiet spaces in and around the gallery.
The Cozens & Cozens exhibition gave us lots of inspiration for different ways of representing trees and landscapes and looking into the 'blot' method was really inspiring, definitely something to try back in the studio
Our listening exercise included sampling the sounds at both the front and back entrances to the gallery and considering the different sound spaces in both.
